Haba Na Haba Food Bank is a registered NGO in Burundi that passionately works to alleviate hunger and strengthen local communities. The food bank was founded after which the two formed a one strategic partnership later that year which saw the organization rise greatly.
Our Story
Food banking in Burundi has its origin from our founders who invested in farming. However, this incurred them losses due to the flooding of the market with lots of farm products exactly same as those they had. Grappled with such an experience, they realized that a lot of food goes to waste like that and yet communities still go hungry. To solve that, Haba Na Haba Food Bank was born.
Our Mission and Vision
Harnessing harvest failures, post-harvest loss and disposal through expiration, over production, damage marketing and other business decisions. Vision: To become a vehicle for an interconnected lifeline to the hungry and, an essential community asset.
